We’re opening our first suitcase for early pre-order at a special price. Pre-order now to secure the deepest discount and help us invest in the materials and processes that bring luggage this advanced to life. Scroll down to see why it’s designed to redefine travel.
Most hardshell cases fail the same way.
Thick, heavy shells that crack after a few drops. Wobbly handles, noisy wheels and zips that give way under pressure. Travel’s demanding enough without your suitcase letting you down. So, we applied everything we’ve learned from engineering high-performance phone cases and gear – to build one that doesn’t.
Built for performance
Every detail of this suitcase reflects our engineering-first approach to product design: smarter materials, stronger construction, cleaner design. That drive for better performance starts with one major innovation in materials.
A new benchmark in performance luggage
UltraMatrix® performs where other luggage materials fail.
At the molecular level, UltraMatrix® is built differently. Polypropylene fibres are stretched and aligned for extreme tensile strength, then woven and heat-fused into a single composite sheet. No glues, no resins, no weak points.
This self-reinforced structure lets the shell flex under pressure instead of cracking, dispersing impact energy and rebounding to shape. It stays tough across extreme temperatures, resisting brittleness in the cold and softening in the heat.
The result: a shell that’s lighter, stronger and more durable over time – setting a new performance standard for modern travel.
Tested to perform
From phone cases to backpacks, we’ve always pushed our gear to the limit. Our suitcase is no exception – tested, dropped and dragged to prove it can take real-world travel.
Made to move better
Every component has a purpose. From the 46-part telescopic handle to Hinomoto wheels and YKK zips, this hardware is engineered for smooth, effortless motion.
Organisation, built in
Intuitive storage that makes sense: streamlined, spacious and ready for however you travel
Every element inside the suitcase is designed to help you fit more, find things faster and keep everything exactly where it should be.
- 36-litre main compartment: roomy enough for weekends away or short business trips.
- Removable compression pad: presses clothing down neatly, reducing bulk and creasing.
- Baked-in liner: creates a clean, seamless interior that maximises usable space.
- Zipped divider with multiple pockets: keeps smaller items like cables, chargers and toiletries organised and easy to access.
- Rear quick-access pocket: discreetly placed for passports, boarding passes and essentials you need in reach but out of sight.
Limited lifetime warranty
We don’t just design for today’s journeys – we design to last for years of them.
Most suitcases end up in landfill when a wheel or handle breaks. Ours doesn’t. Key parts like the wheels, handle, lock and badge can be replaced at home with a simple screwdriver. For most other things, our limited lifetime warranty* covers repair or replacement when it counts for 25 years.

UltraMatrix® – Main shell
The core of the suitcase. UltraMatrix® is a self-reinforced polypropylene composite, woven for strength, laminated for rigidity and engineered for low weight. It forms the high-performance shell that defines the suitcase’s durability and resilience.
ABS – External plastic components.
Used for durable, impact-resistant parts such as the wheel housings and trolley handle casing. ABS offers the toughness and lightness needed to withstand frequent knocks and rough handling.
Polycarbonate + ABS – Front badge bracket.
A blend of polycarbonate and ABS combines rigidity, scratch resistance and impact toughness to securely mount the front badge and maintain structural integrity.
Zinc – Front badge logo.
The Mous logo badge is made from zinc for its metallic strength, corrosion resistance and premium tactile finish – a subtle but durable design detail.
ABS – Internal plastic components.
Inside the suitcase, ABS is used for smaller structural parts like organisational frames and fixing elements, chosen for its toughness and dimensional stability.
Steel – Screws.
All fastening hardware is steel, ensuring strong, reliable fixing points for handles, wheels and internal components. Each suitcase includes spare screws to support repairability.
600D polyester – External pocket
The quick-access rear pocket is constructed from 600-denier polyester: a rugged, tightly woven fabric that stands up to daily wear and tear.
210D nylon – Internal zipped compartment.
The internal zipped compartment is made from 210-denier nylon: lightweight yet strong, with a smooth finish for easier packing and cleaning.
Polypropylene – Baked-in lining.
The interior liner is fused directly into the polypropylene shell, creating a seamless, weight-saving finish. This bonded design eliminates loose fabric and unnecessary parts while reinforcing the suitcase’s structural integrity.
The Mous Optimal Hardshell Carry-On is covered by our 25-year Limited Lifetime Warranty.
Key components — including the wheels, handle, lock and badge — are designed to be replaced at home with standard tools. Spare screws are included. For anything that can't be repaired at home, we'll arrange repair or replacement under the terms of the warranty.

What's in the box
x1 Hardshell Carry-On Suitcase
x1 Protective dust bag
What is UltraMatrix® and why does it matter?
UltraMatrix® is a high-performance woven composite made from self-reinforced polypropylene. It’s up to six times more impact-resistant and twice as stiff for its weight as polycarbonate, delivering exceptional strength without excess weight.
How light is the suitcase?
Our carry-on weighs just 2.8kg (2.9kg with the compression pad), compared to around 3.5kg for most polycarbonate cases, meaning more of your allowance goes on what you pack, not the case itself.
Will this fit in the overhead bin?
The Optimal Carry-On is engineered to the 55 × 40 × 20cm cabin format, which is compliant with most major airlines. We always recommend checking your specific airline's restrictions before you fly, as policies can vary.
How much can I actually pack?
The main compartment holds 36 litres — enough for a weekend away or a short business trip. There's also a 1.2-litre external quick-access pocket for travel essentials. At 2.8kg, the case itself uses significantly less of your cabin allowance than most mainstream alternatives, leaving more room for what you're actually packing.
Is it compatible with Mous packing accessories?
Yes. The Optimal Carry-On works with the full range of Mous Optimal packing accessories, including the Document Pouch, Toiletry Pouch and Tech Pouch. The internal divider pocket is sized to hold one accessory securely, with space for the others in the main compartment.
Is it repairable?
Yes. Key parts like the wheels, handles, lock and badge can be replaced at home using a screwdriver. If needed, our Customer Experience team can arrange professional repair.
What does the warranty cover?
Your suitcase is backed by a 25-year limited lifetime warranty, covering repair or replacement for manufacturing defects or faults under normal use.
